Responsible for developing processes, procedures and standards for the Requirements and Life Cycle Analysis functions. Participate in project startup requirements reviews, technical impact analysis reviews, Enterprise level technical reviews, and in progress technical reviews. DATA WAREHOUSE ARCHITECT

DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for the incremental design, development, and implementation of data foundations for a modernized IRS by replacing the Master Files and related IDRS components with new technology, new applications, and new databases. These projects are critical in modernizing the IRS computer systems. These systems allow employees to post transactions and update taxpayer account and return data from their desks. Updates will be immediately available to anyone who accesses data and will provide a complete, timely, and accurate account of the taxpayer’s information. Position is located in New Carrollton, MD.

EDUCATION:

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Minimum of 8 years experience in systems design, development and implementation. Recommends changes to policies, procedures, standards and controls necessary for developing, maintaining, accessing, and securing all data elements, records in data warehouses, data marts, and other OLAP databases. Experience in Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data modeling of Data Warehouses, Data Marts, and Web Data. Experience in data architecture standards and guidelines and data modeling. SYSTEMS ANALYST

DESCRIPTION:
Serves as a source of technical knowledge on projects. As a member of a technical team, participates in all phases of system life cycles, from system analysis through project implementation. REQUIRED SKILLS:

NETWORK ENGINEERING & TELECOMMUNICATIONS

ATM NETWORK ENGINEER

DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for the design and analysis of IRS telecommunications and data networks. Responsibilities will be focused upon developing and implementing the technical architecture and physical design of the network, specifically: analyzing the existing production telephony and data networks, and developing an appropriate emulation. The candidate will leverage his/her broad experience in large-scale telecommunications and network design and implementations to: design, implement, troubleshoot and measure the performance of the target solution. The design will integrate legacy (IBM and UNIX platforms) and IRS modernized technology to provide an environment that emulates the IRS enterprise. The target architecture and design will consist of the following key technologies: IRS security and technology infrastructure, corporate database environment, telephony environment, network environment, e-commerce environment, and end-user environment. The position is located in New Carrollton, MD.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Minimum of 8 years networking experience. Proven design and analysis experience with TCP/IP, ATM, SNA and networks. Detailed understanding of core routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, IS-IS and EIGRP. Systems integration experience configuring communications media (switches, routers, concentrators) to provide gigabit Ethernet, ATM, Frame Relay and Internet/Intranet solutions. NT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

DESCRIPTION:
This position is located with the IRS in the New Carrollton/Oxon Hill, MD area. The individual will be responsible for the overall installation and maintenance of hardware and software on a daily basis that supports the Filing Season Project. The position requires close interaction with a variety of customers to assist with problems and issues regarding the systems and the configurations.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Minimum of 8 years IT experience. EXCHANGE ADMINISTRATOR/INTEGRATOR

DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for assisting in the integration and deployment of a nation-wide secure email-messaging system using Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5. Position is located in New Carrollton/Oxon Hill, MD area.

CISCO TELECOMMUNICATIONS ENGINEER

DESCRIPTION:

EDUCATION:

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Minimum of 7 years experience with telecommunications systems. Experience in telecommunications design and management, particularly on complex applications involving all phases of telecommunications network design, implementation, and analysis. The candidate will have a strong background and knowledge of CISCO communications equipment, Windows NT communication interface requirements, and network integration and design. HELP DESK/SUPPORT SERVICES ANALYST

DESCRIPTION:
Provides troubleshooting and repair support to a variety of information technology users on hardware, software, telecommunications, and application issues and problems. Function as first level support by receiving, recording, responding to, and following up on trouble calls. Must possess excellent telephone skills, good verbal and written skills, and a basic knowledge of information technology, with an emphasis on laptop devices, Local Area Networks (LANs), and Wide Area Networks (WANs). Candidate will have good analytical skills, good technical skills, and a familiarity with common business practices and terminology.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Minimum of six years working experience providing direct customer support in a problem-solving environment. Experience with MS Windows and MS Office applications. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to get along in a team setting.

UNIX/SOLARIS ADMINISTRATOR

DESCRIPTION:
Daily maintenance and security of a network of over 50 Windows NT PCs and 3 Sun servers connected via TCP/IP and secured using NIS+ on a UNIX platform. Also responsible for the maintenance of an Oracle database.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
The candidate must be thoroughly familiar with the SUN Solaris operating system and the UNIX platform. Experience with the security structure of mainframe OS390, Unix, Solaris, Windows NT operating systems. A minimum of 4 years experience with Sun Solaris 2.x system administration in one or more of the following environments: TCP/IP network; UNIX Bourne Shell scripts; Sun NIS+; NFS file sharing; Sun SPARC Storage Array; Sun Automounter. IVR/VRU ENGINEER

DESCRIPTION:
This position is for the lead engineer for integration of existing and new VRUs within the IRS Enterprise system. This engineer will lead the development and implementation of VRU components within the Modernization architecture. The lead engineer will work closely with management, other teams, projects, team lead engineers, customers and vendors. Experience with IVR systems is essential. Position is located in New Carrollton, MD.

SYSTEMS/INTERNET SECURITY

SYSTEMS SECURITY SPECIALIST

DESCRIPTION:
Review current and proposed systems in order to determine potential risks and mitigation strategies. This individual will prepare necessary documentation to have new systems accredited and certified. He/she will serve as a security liaison, presenting results to IRS senior management. The Security Specialist will be responsible for applying security requirements against design aspects of components in recognizing vulnerabilities, assessing probability of exploitation, and proposing additional counter measures. He/she will lead the development of documentation regarding findings and recommendations. The Security Specialist will shepherd the project through the certification and accreditation of the project release, and is responsible for ensuring delivery of all required work products in an accurate, timely, and complete manner. Position is located in New Carrollton, MD.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Minimum of 8 years IT experience. Hands-on experience participating in systems security accreditations and certifications, developing documentation for certifying systems, performing justifications for waivers, and in computer systems risk assessments. Experience applying security requirements across entire systems. Experience explaining security requirements to design.

INTERNET SECURITY SPECIALIST

DESCRIPTION:
Work with management to develop security framework and structure for a large multi-tiered heterogeneous environment. Assess and evaluate security requirements and technologies for identification and authentication, privacy, integrity, and non-repudiation. Evaluate alternate approaches for Public Key Infrastructures (PKI) to support digital certificates and secure transmission and storage of information. Responsibilities will include participating in requirements analysis, developing specifications, integrating middleware and COTS, and coordinating infrastructurearchitecture activity among various project teams. Must be able to interface with users and technical staff to troubleshoot and implement solutions.
